Child Health & Disability Prevention (CHDP)
The CHDP/EPSDT Unit ensures that every child in our community is evaluated, diagnosed and treated to optimum health. The program provides outreach, community education & information, provider training & monitoring of well child physical exams, case management & referral for follow-up & treatment of diagnosed conditions on the well child physical exams. CHDP funds periodic preventive health assessments, immunizations, vision/hearing, lead tests, lab tests, health education & anticipatory guidance. Information online or by calling 415-575-5700.
Children’s Environmental Health Promotion Program
Promotes families having access to: healthy affordable housing free of lead hazards; asthma-safe homes, child care settings and schools, as well as neighborhoods; reduced use of toxic consumer products, disinfectants and pesticides. We further help families by linking them to needed services and provide multilingual education to the public and training for community agencies. Information online or by calling 415-252-3956.
Community Health Programs for Youth (CHPY)
Provides comprehensive clinical services for youth of all genders aged 12-24 through a network of specialty clinics. Information online or by calling 415-469-4512.
Chinatown Child Development Center (CCDC)
Provides outpatient mental health services to children (age 0-18) and their families, offers parenting education and consultation services for the Chinatown community. Information by calling (628) 217-6450 .
Kid’s Dental Program
Determines the oral health status of kindergarten children in San Francisco’s public schools, identifies those who need treatment and refers to a dental “home”. This is a collaboration with the private practice community and SFUSD. Information online or via email: claire.sit@sfdph.org
Medical Therapy Program Advisory Committee (MTPAC)
The Medical Therapy Program Advisory Committee (MTPAC) is committed to helping the more than 600 therapists in the California Children’s Services Medical Therapy statewide program have access to the necessary information and materials to provide the best possible care for the children they serve. To that end, the workgroups within MTPAC share resources, summarize professional journal articles, and develop current practice guidelines.
SFIC
The San Francisco Immunization Coalition is a network of parents, teachers, public health experts, medical providers and concerned citizens who know that vaccination is an important step on the path toward health and wellness. Special Programs for Youth (SPY)
Provides free primary health care, case management and psycho-social services for to incarcerated youth at the Youth Guidance Center. Includes family planning, pregnancy screening, treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, and HIV testing, and outpatient mental health treatment services for individuals, groups and families.
