Food as Medicine Collaborative

The Food as Medicine Collaborative (FAM Collaborative) is a multi-sector coalition bridging healthcare and food systems to address food insecurity, inspire long-term healthy behaviors, and advance health equity. We represent a coalition of over 20 organizations including healthcare systems, food nonprofits and businesses, UCSF, and the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Since 2014, the FAM Collaborative has catalyzed systems and culture change in healthcare to support food security through both programmatic and policy work. Lifetime of Impact

The primary mission of Lifetime of Impact is to teach medical professionals to quickly connect to their patients by better showing empathy. Run by marine biology professor and brain surgery survivor Shari Bookstaff, Lifetime of Impact offers motivating presentations to our medical community, including tangible tips to improve relations with patients. This leads to smoother procedures, better outcomes, increased patient cooperation, fewer malpractice suits and higher exit survey scores. For more information visit: http://www.lifetimeofimpact.com
