PENNY EARDLEY, INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Penny Eardley brings 30 years of experience in non-profit leadership with a record of successful team management, fiscal responsibility, fund development and strategic planning. Working in and with safety net clinics, residential treatment programs, public radio and public affairs, education programs for youth and other human service groups Penny has broad experience with community agencies. She has won several awards, including the designation as outstanding Santa Barbara County Public Health Professional in 2001. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University and has completed subsequent training in financial management, grant writing, personnel management, organizational development, and life coaching. Penny was the Foundation’s Executive Director between 2010 and 2023, returning in 2025.
ANA MARIE SIVA, DIRECTOR of FINANACE & ACCOUNTING
Ana Marie is a visionary and results-driven Director of Finance and Accounting with over 25 years of proven expertise in managing financial operations across both for-profit and non-profit sectors. She demonstrates expertise in non-profit accounting, fund management, and cutting-edge financial technologies. She optimizes resources for impactful programs and enhances reporting standards. While earning her Bachelor’s in Accounting, she minored in programming and completed her education with an MBA, graduating cum laude. She blends financial acumen with innovation to streamline operations. As a forward-thinking leader, she champions digital currencies and blockchain, unlocking new funding strategies and expanding donor engagement. She also enjoys volunteering at Second Harvest, Habitat for Humanity, and traveling with her family.KANYANTA NKONDE, SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Kanyanta Nkonde is a seasoned finance and accounting professional with over a decade of experience. Her career spans various sectors, including non-profit organizations, government, and public schools. In her operational accounting roles, Kanyanta has been instrumental in ensuring seamless behind-the-scenes financial management. Her extensive on-the-job experience has equipped her with a well-rounded skill set, enabling her to navigate the practical realities of financial operations effectively. Kanyanta’s interpersonal abilities further enhance her capability to manage and maintain smooth financial processes. Kanyanta holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration. Beyond her professional achievements, she is deeply passionate about community upliftment and is committed to the principles of UBUNTU, emphasizing the interconnectedness and shared humanity within her community. Kanyanta joined the foundation in 2024.ARTURO SORIANO, GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT

Arturo Soriano is a pro-active and results-oriented accounting professional with years of experience in all phases of accounting and financial reporting, in various industries. He has honed the skill of analyzing data, performing audits, and examining internal control procedures. With a solid background in and knowledge of financial analysis, his detail-oriented approach leverages his strong planning and organizational abilities. Arturo’s communication brings professionalism with a little levity when needed. His discipline shines through with proven abilities to juggle multiple priorities efficiently under time pressure and able to meet the deadlines that best support the community the Foundation serves. Arturo is an enthusiastic team player that joined our team in 2025.
KITTY THORNTON, PROGRAM MANAGER

Kitty Thornton is a Program Coordinator at the San Francisco Public Health Foundation. There she manages the Requests for Proposals and contracts process for grant recipients and consultants in partnership with our colleagues at the San Francisco Department of Public Health for a variety of programs. She provides support to our funded partners for everything from invoicing to budget modifications and meeting contract deliverables and requirements. Kitty holds a BA from New York University and an MPH from the University of San Francisco. Prior to working at the Foundation, Kitty worked for the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Tobacco Free Project where she managed media campaigns and qualitative research grants. Kitty joined the Foundation in 2019.
SHELDON UNAEGBU, PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Sheldon has a chosen a life of service. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Public Health from CSUEB. His experience has always been steeped in serving and elevating those around him. He initially joined the Foundation as a Project Associate and through the demonstration of his skills and dedication, has been promoted to Program Coordinator. His professional journey is marked by a series of impactful roles and projects that underscore his dedication to making a positive difference in society. Sheldon Joined the Foundation in 2023.
